Occupying a bend in the River Thames, Hampton has been settled since Anglo-Saxon times, with many of its original streets emerging in the medieval period. That said, Hampton has flourished since the Victorian era, with many of its best properties and works of architecture created in this time – especially the riverside spaces above Mosely Lock, and the octagonal Temple to Shakespeare.

Hampton is pleasantly suburban, with direct access to Bushy Park and the grounds of Hampton Court palace on its eastern border, and access to Kempton Park on the west. So, you’ll never be short on green space – or access to the Thames riverside – which borders Hampton to the south.
